The Tribe of Blazing Fire was founded on the belief of StarClan. Smokestar would meet with StarClan before every major decision. That was how she decided to start a tribe, how she decided to choose Firespeck as her deputy, and how she decided to switch Wonderpaw from being a warrior apprentice to being the medicine cat apprentice.
Most cats in the tribe believe in StarClan as every apprentice must make the trip to the Moonpool and meet their ancestors. The few how don't didn't have any cats show up when they were at the Moonpool. Namingly, Thunderswirl and Embermist. They are too embarrassed to admit they didn't meet any cat. StarClan didn't send anyone for those cats because they believed the cats' hearts were too dark to save. Firespeck became my deputy around 6 moons ago and we finally had our first argument. It's our first leaf-bare and the tribe is hungry and sick. Most of the elders and apprentices are sick with whitecough. A few of the apprentices have greencough and one of the elders have blackcough. The medicine cat doesn't think he's going to make it without some catmint.
The tribe's out of catmint and the closest batch is inside a twolegs den. Firespeck thought we should smooch off of the twolegs. Become friends with the kittypet and what not. It's honestly a terrible idea. We're still wild. We don't want to depend on twolegs to survive. Firespeck and I argued nonstop for about a week. By the end, he had respectfully submitted to me. We tried to make the Yarrowtail as comfortable as possible before he passed away. Yarrowtail helped me a lot when I was starting the tribe and he will not be forgotten anytime soon.
Those fish are super big, normally between one and one and a half tail lengths long. They are nice and cool, making them a great meal for during greenleaf. They are also still in the river during leaf-bare but the water is too cold for my paws!
During newleaf, you can see schools of them just swimming up the river to mate and have fish kits, which means more yummy fish for me when they grow up. Note for the warriors and apprentices reading this, never go for the smaller fish! They will grow and become big fish, which are more tasty, mind you. I like the occasional squirrel and shrew, but I could definitely live off of eating only fish for the rest of my life! Also, Smokestar says I shouldn't use this many exclamation marks in a post, but it's not like I tell her how to do her job so we're keeping it! |
